Cummins Falls

Cummins Falls State Park offers vistas, swimming options, and scenic respite accessible by all-terrain wheelchairs available for rental onsite.

Sitting on 306 acres, the expansive recreational grounds include a 75-ft high waterfall (the 8th largest by water volume in the state) and a swimming area that’s been in use for more than 100 years.

The conveniently located, day-use park sits on Blackburn Fork State Scenic River just 9 miles north of Cookeville, making it an easy addition to any itinerary when traveling through or to the area.

With wheelchair-friendly restrooms, an accessible overlook point, designated wheelchair parking, a handicap vehicle accessible road, and the aforementioned, free, rentable all-terrain wheelchairs (designed to empower individuals with mobility impairments - just give advance notice to ensure a vehicle is reserved for your visit), Cummins Falls is a shining example of Tennessee’s commitment to accessibility for all.

Note: Cummins Falls can become treacherous during rain events. As a result, gorge permits are required when visiting the base of the falls. To stay informed and safe while in the park, keep an eye on any and all active alerts before and during your visit.
