Burgess Falls

Originally the home of the Cherokee, Creek, and Chickasaw Native American tribes, Burgess Falls now enchants modern-day visitors with its stunning views, walking trails, and diverse plant and animal life. The former gristmill and sawmill boast four impressive waterfalls, the tallest of which drops 130 feet into the gorge below.
Since being designated as a Tennessee State Natural area in 1973, Burgess Falls has blossomed into a park focused on accessibility for all who visit. In addition to the newly added overlook area (built with those facing physical disabilities in mind), this sprawling outdoor oasis features handicap-accessible parking, restroom facilities, and walking trails, making it the perfect spot for the young and old, the able-bodied and those facing physical challenges alike.
