"During a recent autumn stay in the Cookeville area with my aging parents, we desired to embrace the beauty of the Upper Cumberland region by visiting one of the area’s numerous waterfalls. The hurdle we faced though was that my father, who had recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, would be unable to navigate most hiking trails to take in the views.

After discovering the Waterfalls for All Project, I reached out and inquired as to which waterfall would be easiest for him to navigate. Cummins Falls was recommended and we found that it did not disappoint! With its newly created handicap parking spot near the falls, as well as the short and easily navigable paved walkway from the parking space to the falls, it was perfect for our needs. We loved creating special memories, despite the hurdles that life had thrown our way, as three generations gathered and savored the view from the fall’s overlook."
